Sid Zhang is a director, dancer, and poet from Nanjing, China and currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She searches for space between words and their silence and creates visual poetry out of interdisciplinary, movement-based performances.
She received a BA (Hons) in Theater and Performance Studies at Stanford University, with a Minor in Creative Writing (poetry). She is a recipient of the Louis Sudler Prize in the Performing and Creative Arts. Her work has been presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the San Francisco International Arts Festival, and Stanford University.
Sid directs, designs, crafts, and sometimes thinks. She performs when needed.
She is a former member of the Chocolate Heads Movement Band.
